Homemade Momo balls

Kuih Momo is melt/crumble-in-the-mouth biscuits with a delicious milky flavour, very sweet tho.  They are very fragile to handle.  In Brunei and EM, these cookies are commonly knows as Kuih Momo.  These cookies are rich with ghee and a strong milky flavour. You will either love it or hate it.  The icing sugar dusting makes them look cute and fluffy, like snow balls.

Ingredients:
150g GHEE
150g Plain flour
100g Milk Powder
100g Icing sugar
(Extra icing sugar for dusting the momo balls)

Icing sugar

Steps to make momo balls:

Step 1
Add flour and milk powder to frying pan.
Stir fry (Dry roast) at medium low heat for 5 minutes.
Dry roast the flour until it turns a bit brown and smells nutty.
Do remember to stir constantly to avoid flour getting too hot and burning.
Remove from heat after it smells nutty and leave it to cool.

Step 2
Melt ghee and slowly pour into the centre of the flour just now.
Mix with a spoon then finish by massaging the dough using fingers
Make sure the dough is evenly mixed.

Step 3:
Shape/Press the mixture into round balls.
Take a lump and lightly roll each lump between palms into a ball.
Avoid putting pressure on the balls or it will crumble.

Step 4:
Coat generously with icing sugar.
The balls are very fragile. Be gentle during the process of dusting!

Step 5
Store in airtight container.

Throw them into your mouth and let them melt!
Kuih Momo is love and addictive!
